Community & Parents for Public Schools of Seattle (CPPS) is a citywide network of parents and community members working as one to ensure quality public schools for all Seattle children. They organize, educate, and empower parents and community members to constructively engage with Seattle district and civic leaders to build a world-class public school system.
SVP awarded CPPS a Collective Action grant in 2014.
Total Giving: $25,000
Strengthening Community & Parents for Public Schools
In partnership with SVP, CPPS tackles projects like:
- Program Evaluation: Identifying key performance indicators, building a program evaluation plan, and developing a compelling dashboard to showcase their progress with parent engagement (SVP Partners Arnaud Comet and Jenn Beyers of ORS Impact, which provided both paid and pro bono consulting)
- Marketing and Communications: Turning powerful data into unforgettable stories that resonate with their audience and grow their programs (builds off the Program Evaluation work, so we will be looking for a volunteer later this year)
Stories about Community & Parents for Public Schools
In the last year, SVP’s Collective Action Teams gave $170,000 in grants towards equitable transit, livable communities, and education in King County – bringing our total investment in collective action to $350,000 since 2012. Though this work, SVP is helping nonprofits engage more effectively in collective efforts, while simultaneously working with other funders to walk the talk – aligning and coordinating our investments for greater impact.
