Al Rainsberger is the Director of Health and Safety for Foss Maritime located in Seattle. He is responsible for developing and implementing corporate environmental and safety programs.
Al joined Foss in 2006, coming from Seattle’s Todd Pacific Shipyards, a company he joined in 1979 and became Director of the Environmental/Safety department in 1990.
Al is currently the President and Board Member of the Puget Sound Shipbuilders Association, whose members are safety and environmental directors at the region’s maritime industry. He also sits on the Seattle Fire Code Advisory Board and is President and Board Chairman for the Environmental Coalition of South Seattle. He is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, a member of the National Fire Protection Association and is the Chairman of the Governor’s Industrial Safety and Health Conference-Materials Handling Panel.
Born and raised in Seattle, Al enjoys being surrounded by water be it the ocean, a lake or a river. He is an avid University of Washington sports and Seattle Seahawk fan. He is also an active owner of Thoroughbred horses that race up and down the west coast.
