Tony Mestres is the president and chief executive officer of The Seattle Foundation. He joined the organization in 2014 following a 22-year career in the technology and communications industries where he established a proven track record of building strong client and partner relationships, inspiring and leading through people, and driving strategic execution.
Most recently, Tony was general manager and vice president at Microsoft, where he oversaw worldwide sales and marketing execution for the company’s mobile business. Previously, he was vice president of Microsoft’s Consumer Channels Group, responsible for managing strategic alliances and execution of Microsoft’s PC, Phone and TV Entertainment strategy. Tony joined Microsoft in 1999 after working at a Seattle-based venture capital and consultancy firm.
Tony is a strong believer in the power of philanthropy and engaged giving. His philanthropic leadership includes more than 12 years as both a partner/ board member of Social Venture Partners and board member/board president for Kindering, which serves children with special needs and their families.
