Sponsor Spotlight: Meet GoDaddy!

Posted by SVP Seattle

Each year, SVP Fast Pitch is honored to partner with companies that are committed to driving real change in the communities where they live and serve. GoDaddy kicks off our Sponsor Spotlight series where we learn more about their legacy of giving and community involvement.

Stacy Cline, Social Impact Director at GoDaddy, shares more about company culture, giving strategies, and recent wins with their successful GoCommunities campaign.

SVP: How does GoDaddy view its role in giving back and supporting local communities?

Stacy: GoDaddy has a long history of giving back to the community, and giving back is ingrained into our company culture. For us to thrive, our communities need to thrive.

We support our communities not just through financial contributions but through a variety of programs including; grants, volunteerism, matching donations, in-kind contributions, microlending, and point of sale campaigns with our customers.

We’ve given more than 18 million dollars to nonprofits and our employees have volunteered more than 38,000 hours of their time to the causes that they are passionate about.

SVP: Can you share a recent story that exemplifies your commitment to community improvement?

Stacy: We launched our newest social impact program, GoCommunities back in May 2017. The mission of this program is to equip entrepreneurs in underserved communities with the training, tools, and resources that they need to be successful. Through this program, we are partnering with leading nonprofits to provide community-based programs or virtual learning experiences with locally-driven skills based volunteer efforts nationwide.

GoCommunities focuses on boosting the skills and knowledge of entrepreneurs through customized trainings, GoDaddy mentors, and coaches so they can bolster their small business’ digital presence and gain other critical business skills. Through GoCommunities, we seek to strengthen underserved communities through the power of small business.

SVP: Why does GoDaddy choose to support programs such as SVP Fast Pitch?

Stacy: GoDaddy focuses our philanthropic support on causes that tie back to our vision, to radically shift the global economy toward life-fulfilling independent ventures. Through our philanthropic work, we find dedicated partners who are living this vision and values in supporting local entrepreneurs, and small business owners find success, however they measure it. SVP and the Fast Pitch program does exactly that.

We are especially passionate about supporting and driving inclusive entrepreneurship because we believe this fuels local economies across the globe and ultimately improves lives.

SVP: What about the 2018 Fast Pitch program are you most excited about?

Stacy: It’s always exciting to see the new ventures being launched and passionate individuals pitching their ideas in the culmination of the program. We look forward to hearing the new ideas that are going to positively impact the community, and we can’t wait to see how GoDaddy can help them in their journey.
