Guiding SVP’s Investments: PGC and CAT Info Session

August 29, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

We are recruiting for SVP’s Collective Action Teams and the Portfolio Grant Committee! Join us for an information session to learn about the work of these three teams, past investments,

Here’s a bit more about each committee:

  • The Education Collective Action Team is focused on cradle to career education- ensuring all kids enter kindergarten ready to learn and all students graduate from high school ready for college or a career. The EduCAT invests in local collective action initiatives addressing the disparities in our education system to develop a cradle-to-career continuum that is equitable for and inclusive of historically marginalized communities. Over the next year, the EduCAT will continue to explore engaging nonprofit organizations in systems level strategies, supporting ongoing collaborative efforts, and responding to emerging needs in the education system.
  • The Environment Collective Action Team is a group of SVP Partners who care deeply about the environment, with a keen awareness that issues like equity, health, and economic prosperity are also key elements of community sustainability. The Enviro CAT is a catalyst for system level solutions – working with community partners to connect equity, environment, and the economy. The EnviroCAT will continue to explore how best to support strategic initiatives at  the intersection of environmental sustainability and equity, and capitalize on opportunities in the field.
  • Portfolio Grant Committee is responsible for overseeing and providing support for SVP’s portfolio of multi-year capacity building investments. The PGC not only informs the annual refunding of Investees but also helps strengthen SVP’s institutional learning around capacity building with nonprofits. The PGC currently monitors 10 Investees and is comprised of 10-15 SVP Partners.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact Mike Quinn about the Portfolio Grant Committee, and Zamzam Abdulgani about the Collective Action Teams.
