This was so true with the support SDSVP provided to the new collaborative that produced the 19th Annual Cause Conference. This years’ event at UCSD’s Price Center was the largest in Cause Conference history with record attendance and number of speakers. The “Purpose” focus matches SVP in that we help people find theirs. It was also a great way for our SDSVP organization to be recognized. Unlike other years in the past where the SD American Marketing Association produced the Cause Conference. This year they were joined by the SD Nonprofit Association and Conscious Capitalism San Diego Chapter. This added ‘fuel’ and even more skilled volunteers to make the conference so successful.

Parker Pike (Cause Conference co-founder and presenting the Nonprofit Marketing Scholarship for college students)
In Parker’s lunch time scholarship presentation, he gave a ‘shout out’ to Alan Sorkin — helping found SDSVP and mentioned….”learn more about SDSVP and new ways of rethinking individual philanthropy.”
SDSVP was mentioned in thousands of social media posts (over 11,000 impressions), program and collateral recognition along with SD Grantmakers and The SD Foundation.
Also, thanks to an anonymous donor, SDSVP was able to offer a ‘scholarship’ of our own for a free conference ticket to seven (7) SDSVP investees, past and present. In this way, SDSVP could provide the “Gift of Knowledge” and networking or our investees, and demonstrate our SDSVP connections and support for important sector events.
