What is your profession? How do you spend your days?
I’m a writer (TerryStarbucker.com), business consultant, angel investor, entrepreneur (publisher of the online magazine Built Oregon), board member of the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network, and a big espresso aficionado – just to name a few of the things I’m up to these days, besides my involvement in SVP. I like to keep busy.
If you could have lunch with one person living or dead, who would it be and why?
President Obama, so I can find out what it’s really like to be the leader of the free world, offer him a few observations about the issues and problems facing our country, and ask a few questions as to why “compromise” is a dirty word in Washington these days.
What has inspired you to be an engaged philanthropist?
I like the idea of helping people – making a difference, with my financial resources, my intellect, and my heart.
What do you value about Social Venture Partners?
I love the concept of a group of people rallying around my concept of the engaged philanthropist- because I know a group focused on a common goal can be so much stronger than an individual.
What do you want to accomplish in your next decade?
Help as many leaders, companies, entrepreneurs, dreamers, and those in need of an engaged philanthropist as I can, by making a difference.
