What is your profession?
I am currently a Portfolio Analytics and Reporting Associate at Fisher Investments, an independent money management firm for both personal and institutional investors.
What is your connection to SVP?
I have had the great pleasure of volunteering in many capacities at the Native American Youth and Family Center. In one instance, I leveraged professional abilities to act as a VITA certified tax preparer at the NAYA tax preparation site. In another I helped oragnize the Native Professionals and Friends Night. Lastly, I operated the registration table at the 2014 NAYA Gala. I have had the opportunity to meet many deeply committed and impactful community leaders representing many different organizations. Interaction with these individuals has allowed me to see the spotlight that these leaders have cast on their communities at large and has shaped my view of the world and my own role in it. I want to take a proactive role in the direction of the future we all live in.
Why did you decide to participate in the Rising Leaders Program?
I am hopeful that one day, I too, can be the powerful motivator/mentor that I have experienced, and make a significant impact within my community. I believe there is an unmet opportunity to apply my skill set to the special issues and problems facing the social sector and philanthropy at large.
