Mission & Overview: KairosPDX‘s mission is to eliminate the prolific racial achievement and opportunity gaps by cultivating confident, creative, compassionate, leaders who exceed expectations at each milestone ages 0-10.
KairosPDX is a non-profit organization focused on delivering excellent, equitable education to underserved children, their families and their communities. Through innovative pedagogy, community collaboration and family partnership, Kairos is closing Portland’s persistent achievement gap in measurable, sustainable ways.
Kairos/SVP Partnership: Capacity building will position KairosPDX to launch preschool, expand parent support for underserved families, advocate for early childhood investment, and make progress towards long-term goal of eliminating achievement gap for children of color. ~600 pre-k aged children will be served over the 5 years. Additionally, policy, advocacy, and professional development efforts aim to introduce proven approaches to cultural based learning to significantly improve outcomes for children of color on a large scale in Portland.
