Co-Creating Systems Change: Using equity-centered design to develop Preschool for All
August 22 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm
SVP Portland Partner, Erin Stevanus and Community Impact Manager, Sarah Cohen-Doherty presented on co-creating systems change at the SVPI Global Summit in May 2019. We are excited to share this session with SVP Portland!
The SVP Network has heard about Portland’s Ready for Kindergarten goal and Commitment to Advancing Racial Equity for years. We have shared the stories about how we reached those milestones and lessons learned along the way. We have more to share — the journey, 2.0.
In July 2017, SVP Portland’s Board challenged us to hone in our Ready for Kindergarten goal and focus on Preschool for All. We formed a Task Force of dedicated Partners, including a number of early childhood specialists, to determine what this could and should look like. Over the course of a year, our Task Force used collaborative design thinking with Investees (whom we call Community Partners), Investor Partners, and others to identify SVP’s role in amplifying systems change and how we can move the needle around equitable access to high-quality early learning experiences.
