In July, SVP Denver announced a second round of Investees for 2018. Three new nonprofit organizations were chosen by SVP Partners, and added to our 2018 portfolio. We are excited to provide comprehensive capacity-building support to each of the below organizations over the course of the next year.
- Colorado Photographic Arts Center – dedicated to the art of photography, CPAC is a local nonprofit organization that offers photography classes, workshops, portfolio reviews, exhibitions and community events. Late last year, CPAC presented their first-ever Veterans photography exhibit and it will now become an annual program.
- Lighthouse Writers Workshop – one of the cornerstones of the Lighthouse mission is to provide a safe space for creative expression with programs for aspiring writers, students, community members, youth and marginalized citizens. They believe that literature and creative writing are integral investments in our community, and work to build strong connections among community members in three main program areas: education, community, and outreach.
- Reach Out and Read Colorado – as part of a national affiliate network, Reach Out and Read Colorado uniquely and practically invests in early childhood to help create a healthier and more robust community. They do so by partnering with more than 1,800 health care providers to prescribe brand-new, high-quality, age-appropriate and culturally-responsive books over 100,000 Colorado children.
