Where is the opportunity in Opportunity Zones?
February 27 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm
Opportunity Zones, a new investment incentive program created in the 2017 tax overhaul, were established to encourage long-term investments in low-income urban and rule communities nationwide.
Several Opportunity Zones exist within Dallas county and local analysts have claimed they have the potential to remake parts of our region. Questions abound for how this new tool might be used, however. Who stands to gain the most from it and how might it affect current residents?
On February 27th, we will explore the purpose of Opportunity Zones, who stands to gain the most through their use, and how they might affect North Texas communities. Speaking at the luncheon:
- Ben Magill, Executive Director, Labor Market Intelligence Center, DCCCD
- Jack Matthews, CEO, Matthews Southwest
- Dr. Myriam Igoufe, Director of Housing Services, Dallas Housing Authority
- Roy Lopez, Assistant Vice President & Community Development Officer, Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas (Panel Moderator)
Join us on February 27th as we explore key insights into Opportunity Zones that will shape development across Dallas county for years to come.
