Mark Argosh

A Partner of SVP Connecticut since 2014 along with his wife, Paula, Mark Argosh began his tenure as Executive Director of the venture philanthropy organization in December 2016.  He is also the Founder and Managing Partner of Organic Growth Partners (OGP), a strategic consulting firm where he has led high-profile growth strategy and transformation efforts—seamlessly assuming C-level roles and revitalizing teams for banks, retailers, business services companies, insurance brokers, information technology companies and nonprofits.

Across the private and nonprofit sectors, Mark brings more than thirty years of experience as a senior advisor, investor, and partner to Fortune 500, mid-size companies and leading nonprofit organizations, and foundations.  In the corporate sector, his work focused on increasing shareholder value and growth by building customer focused strategies, leading product and service innovation, harnessing big data to increase sales and customer retention, and aligning operations with strategy.

Before launching OGP, Mark was a managing director in a closely held, middle market private equity firm where he led investments in financial services, business services and energy exploration and development companies.  This followed a senior executive post at Bank of America, where he ran Consumer and Small Business Ecommerce and the Internet Banking business. His vision for the bank’s online banking strategy resulted in the company achieving the number one position in online banking and drove a 50% reduction in consumer attrition rates.  Prior to joining Bank of America, Mark was a senior partner in the Financial Services Group at Mercer Management Consulting and Strategic Planning Associates (now Oliver Wyman).

Mark began his career in the nonprofit sector and has served on many nonprofit boards in education, human services, foreign policy, and the arts throughout his corporate tenures.  He has worked with nonprofit leadership teams as an executive coach, strategist, and new program developer to accelerate social impact and enhance a nonprofit’s effectiveness and sustainability.

As an undergraduate student at Brown University, Mark was the founder and first director of the university’s Resource Center.  This venture, focused on educational innovation and community engagement for the Brown University community, was the genesis for a lifelong social entrepreneurial passion. Following this work, he served as the executive director of two grassroots community organizations focused on community revitalization and economic development in low and moderate-income communities.

Mark graduated with an AB in Social Change from Brown University and received his MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.  He and his wife, Paula, have two sons and reside in Westport, CT.
