While the heavy rains kept some from venturing to Redding, the storm did little to dampen the spirits of those who gathered in the beautiful barn at Maple Hill Farm in September to celebrate the 5-year anniversary of SVP Connecticut’s founding.
Thanks to our hosts, Greg and Kathy Young (BeFoundation) and SVP Partner Rich Wenning, more than 65 Partners, friends and guests from the nonprofit sector enjoyed a terrific evening of food and drink with music provided by SVP Partner Rob Fried and members of Band Together.
Co-founding Partner and SVP Board Chair Don Kendall reflected on SVP’s first 5 years and its impact and expressed his gratitude to the partnership, FCCF and those within the nonprofit sector who have supported SVP Connecticut as our model of engaged philanthropy has evolved.
SVPI Founding President Paul Shoemaker shared that his visit to SVP Connecticut completed his tour of all 43 SVP affiliates across 9 countries – he obviously saved the best for last! Paul’s remarks to the group emphasized his appreciation for how far Connecticut had come in a relatively short time and he encouraged the partnership to “keep pushing forward and don’t be scared of growth.”
