SVP Chicago 3rd Annual Fast Pitch Winners

Posted by colleenscrivner

On May 8, eight finalists in SVP Chicago’s Fast Pitch competed for $35,000 in cash and pro bono service prizes. The showcase event, held at Uptake’s headquarters, attracted an audience of 250 business, civic and nonprofit leaders. And the winners are….

  • $10,000 Judges’ Award – Nina Smith, LEAP
  • $7,500 Coaches’ Award – Jamila Trimuel, Ladies of Virtue
  • $5,000 Audience Choice Award – Kathy Ragnar, Sarah’s Circle
  • Pro bono service award from Jasculca Terman – Mike McGee, CodeNow
  • Pro bono service award from Mission+Strategy Consulting – Kathy Ragnar, Sarah’s Circle

The showcase event is the culmination of a two-month communications program. Fifteen nonprofit leaders were selected from a field of more than 60. Each semifinalist was paired with a coaching team comprised of two to three SVP partners and other civic-minded Chicagoans. The nonprofit leaders participated in three practice pitches with coaching in between. Eight finalists were selected following the third practice pitch to participate in the showcase event.

This year’s program has been captured in a podcast produced by Rivet Smart Audio. Stay tuned for our final episode to be released in mid-May: https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/rivet-radio-2/fast-pitch
