The Next Generation Partners program (formerly SVP Teens) offers a comprehensive philanthropic experience for children, grandchildren of SVPAZ Partners and their friends in grades 6 through 12 to develop a deeper knowledge of the nonprofit sector and grant making, gain exposure to social issues and nonprofits addressing them and are inspired to make a bigger difference.
The Next Gen Partners engage in a competitive grantmaking process, which includes funding and volunteer hours.
Through research and due diligence the Next Gen learn to evaluate nonprofit organizations using the best practices from SVPAZ and Arizona Community Foundation (ACF).
The Next Gen Partners learn and practice teamwork through real activities like fundraising, grant-making, and site visits to potential Investees.
Impact: The 2016-17 NGP Team raised $4,257.12 toward a competitive grant, targeting 501(c)(3) organizations focused on Education Innovation. They have also committed to 25 hours of volunteer time to the organization(s) receiving grants.
