SVP Arizona is recognized as a unique organization nationally & internationally.  We engage community-oriented professionals & leaders, and help them become philanthropic social changemakers.  SVPAZ is part of a global organization of philanthropists, with over 3,500 partners in 42 cities across the world. Locally, our Partners pool contributions through membership dues make multi-year, unrestricted gifts to carefully selected, local nonprofits. In addition to providing financial donations, our Partners also contribute their expertise to build the capacity of selected nonprofits and increase their social impact.


This pairing of our Partners with Investee organizations provides meaningful experiences for all parties. Since 1999, SVP Arizona has successfully invested more than $4.5 million in over 100+ Phoenix­ area nonprofit agencies and has invested tens of thousands of Partner hours helping build nonprofits’ abilities to achieve their goals.



The CEO will have a unique opportunity to engage Partners and help lead an innovative and vibrant philanthropic membership organization to its next level of impact. This full time, exempt position is responsible for furthering the mission and vision of SVP Arizona with overall strategic and tactical leadership. The CEO will supervise the Director of Partner Engagement and any contract staffing. Reporting to the SVP Arizona Board of Directors, the CEO will grow and strengthen the organization and increase its impact and recognition, including increasing the number of Partners and diversifying revenue.


  • Implement a dynamic approach to realize SVP Arizona’s vision, mission and strategic plan
  • Diversify and increase revenue sources by retaining and expanding Partners,

obtaining grants and developing corporate partnerships and sponsorships

  • Provide leadership to our Partners and engage them in assisting Investees to build organizational capacity and increasing the social impact of their nonprofit organizations
  • Oversee Partner learning opportunities and subsequent effective involvement with nonprofit organizations, providing guidance and support
  • Create with the Board and functional team chairs and work with SVPAZ Partners to achieve a multi-year strategic plan and tactical annual plans, each with measurable outcomes and defined milestones
  • Measure and communicate SVP Arizona’s impact on the community, nonprofit organizations, and Partners
  • Oversee execution of operating and fiscal plans
  • Champion ongoing program excellence, measure outcomes, make improvements where needed, and communicate results to the Board, Partners and other constituents
  • Consistently achieve high standards of internal operations (finance and administration, systems, processes, communications and events)
  • Actively inspire, engage and provide support to SVP Partners and a strong Board of Directors
  • Hire/contract, manage and develop SVP staff



  • Serve as the public face of SVPAZ to the greater Phoenix community
  • Build strong relationships with Partners, community leaders, funders and other key constituents
  • Raise the presence and visibility of SVP Arizona in the local nonprofit and philanthropic communities and help them garner new opportunities
  • Enhance all aspects of external communications and development and implement strong messaging
  • Actively engage & work with others to increase SVP Arizona visibility through media coverage, social media, networks and additional resources
  • Plan and facilitate stakeholder group meetings and dialogues and manage appropriate follow-up
  • Serve as SVP Arizona’s primary interface with the SVPI (SVP International) global network



  • Demonstrated passion for philanthropy and the SVP model, including SVPAZ values
  • Innovative professional with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in increasingly broad leadership and management roles
  • Proven interpersonal abilities to build relationships and partnerships with a wide variety of high-achieving stakeholders
  • In-depth experience with fund development and donor relations
  • Demonstrated track record of financial and program management
  • Excellent communication skills, including public speaking, active listening, clear written and

oral communication and a team­-oriented working style

  • Equally interested in and capable of both big picture thinking and doing the “rolling up the sleeves” work required in a small, rapidly changing organization
  • Proven organizational and analytic skills including the ability to plan, prioritize, manage and conduct project follow-through
  • Experience preferred in marketing, public relations, events planning and advocacy
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
