Our Reigning Ping Pong Champions! And Other Global Conference News …

Posted by Willow Russell

Okay, so we didn’t officially keep score, but Dan Tisch and Dara Parker sure LOOK like they’re laying down some solid Canadian backspins, chops and drop shots. (And Dan was no slouch in the Skee-Ball lanes either!)

Over many rounds of games and beers our global SVP family laughed, reconnected and kicked off an incredible two days of learning and inspiration. Scott Sherman taught us how to cultivate luck. Dr. Heather Hackman challenged us to examine systems of inequity so we can build a more just world. Partners and staff from around the network shared successes, innovations and failures.

Our communications team walked away brimming with story ideas – so stay tuned for future newsletters! In the meantime, SVPI’s knowledge manager (best title ever), Sarabeth Zemel has posted all of the conference materials on SVP Connect. So if you forgot your notes – no worries! We’ve got you covered.

Plus, check out photos from our awesome volunteer photographer, Gary Voth. We’ve posted some of our favorites below and on Facebook, but you can see and download the whole collection for your materials as well!2016 Conference 1

Shout out to SVP LA staffer, Aya Burgess (above right) for the stellar pick for our opening reception! Arts District Brewing didn’t know what hit them.2016 Conference 2

SVP Conference 2016 V2

During our opening plenary session, Scott Sherman got us out of our seats and out of our heads when it comes to social change. Then we dug into impact investing, revenue and recruiting, real-time strategic planning, equity, and more!
